Daily Update 5/14/17

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there!

Orlando City SC – Orlando City (6-3-1, 19pts) ended up with a 2-2 draw against Sporting Kansas City (5-2-4, 19pts) on Saturday night in Orlando. This ended the streak of 6 straight home wins to open the season and new stadium, but The Lions have still not lost at home. Larin and Kaka both scored for Orlando City. Game recap from orlandocitysc.com here! Orlando City heads to San Jose to take on the Earthquakes Wednesday at 10:30pm.

Tampa Bay Rays – Rays (18-21) lost to the Red Sox (19-17) in Boston 6-3 Saturday. MLB.com game recap here! The two will match up in the rubber match today at 1:35pm from Fenway. MLB.com game preview here! The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Sun.

Florida Fire Frogs – The Fire Frogs (18-19) lost 4-1 to the Flying Tigers (18-19) in Lakeland, losing the series 2 games to 1. MiLB game recap here! The team has Mother’s Day off, and play next at Osceola County Stadium on Monday against the Tampa Yankees (16-21).

Orlando Pride – The Pride (0-2-2, 4pts) return to Orlando City Stadium today against the North Carolina Courage (4-0-0, 12 pts), looking for their elusive first win of the season as they take on the top team in the league. Orlando City B – Orlando City B (3-3-3, 12 pts) shutout FC Cincinnati (2-4-3, 9pts) 2-0 on Saturday in Cincinnati. Game recap from OrlandoCitySC.com here!

UCF Baseball – UCF (36-15) won 3-1 over Cincinnati (26-25) on Saturday to stay in a 1st place tie with Houston in the conference. UCFKnights game recap here! The two play the final game of the series today as UCF looks for the sweep at 12pm. The game will be broadcast on 96.9 the game in Orlando.

UCF Women’s Track & Field – UCF Won another medal, Jhane’ Carter won a Bronze in the shot put, and advanced 4 more athletes to Sunday’s finals at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday. A recap of the day’s events can be found at UCFKnights.com here!

UCF Women’s Rowing – The UCF Rowing team won its 3rd straight American Athletic Conference title on Saturday, sweeping all six events in Sarasota on Saturday. UCFKNights.com recap here!

Rollin’s Rowing – The Tars finished 5th in the C Level Final of the Dad Vail Regatta which ended the team’s season. Recap from rollinssports.com here!
