Daily Update – May 18th, 2017

Sorry about yesterday, time was not my friend, but I’m back with a double sized recap and preview today.

Orlando City SC – Orlando (6-3-2, 20pts) played the San Jose Earthquakes (4-4-4, 16pts) to a 1-1 draw last night in San Jose. OrlandoCitySC.com recap here! Next up for the Lions will be New York City FC in Orlando Sunday at 7pm.

Orlando Magic – Magic get the 6th draft pick in the draft lottery. Speculation continues to run rampant over who the Magic will hire on as new Team President, with it seeming the Magic really want David Griffin for the jobs. Mike Bianchi from OrlandoSentinel.com covers the story here!

Tampa Bay Rays – The Rays (21-22) won 2 in a row against the Cleveland Indians (20-19), 6-4 on Tuesday (MLB.com recap here!) and 7-4 on Wednesday (MLB.com recap here!). The Rays head back home now to start a series with the New York Yankees (24-13) on Friday.

Florida Fire Frogs – The Frogs (18-22) dropped 2 in a row to the Tampa Yankees (19-21), 3-0 on Tuesday (MiLB.com recap here!) and 4-1 Wednesday (MLB.com recap here!). Today is the final game of the series. It starts at 7:05pm at Osceola County Stadium and live audio streaming will be available here!

Orlando Solar Bears – The 2017-18 schedule is out for the Solar Bears. The season will open on the road October 14th, and will have their home opener on Oct 28th against the Atlanta Gladiators. The full schedule can be found here!

UCF Baseball – The Knights (36-17) lost to Florida Atlantic (31-18-1) 9-4 on Wednesday. UCFKnights.com recap here! Daily Update, April 4, 2017

Orlando City SC – The Lions (6-0-2, 18pts) fell to Toronto FC (4-4-1, 16pts) in Toronto 2-1 on Wednesday night. Highlights and recap can be found on ESPN FC here!

Tampa Bay Rays – The Tampa Bay Rays (14-15) lost to the Miami Marlins (12-14) 10-6 in Tampa yesterday. Game recap on rays.mlb.com here! Tampa can win the Citrus Series if they beat the Marlins today in Tampa at 7:10pm tonight at The Trop. Game preview from MLB.com here!

Florida Fire Frogs – Fire Frogs (12-15) swept a doubleheader against the Palm Beach Cardinals (14-12) on Wednesday, winning 8-1 in game 1, and 5-0 in game 2. The two teams will play again this morning at 10:30am in Jupiter. Read a game recap on MiLB.com here!

Orlando Solar Bears – The Orlando Magic and DeVos family have announced they will be buying the Orlando Solar Bears. Read about it on FoxSports.com here!

UCF Softball – UCF Softball (27-21) swept a doubleheader against Bethune-Cookman (21-31) yesterday in Daytona Beach. Recaps of the games can be found here! They will play Tulsa in Tulsa today at 6pm.

UCF Men’s Tennis – Korey Lovett, Junior, has been selected to compete in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Tournament. This is the first time UCF has had a player selected for the tournament. Lovett currently is ranked 43rd and has a 14-8 record on the season. Read about it at ucfknights.com here!
